The rules for using MakeInvoicePDF: what the tools are for, what you are responsible for, and what we can and cannot promise.

The service

MakeInvoicePDF is an independent publisher and runs makeinvoicepdf.com. The site offers free online generators, calculators and document templates. There are no accounts and no fees. By using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use it.

Your documents

What you type and the documents you make with the site are yours. You are responsible for what they say: that names, dates, amounts, tax rates, tax numbers and payment details are correct, and that each document meets the rules that apply where you and your customer do business. Check every PDF before you send it.

The filled-in example in each generator only shows how the form works. Its names, prices and terms are not a recommendation.

No professional advice

The tools do the layout and the arithmetic. The explanations, rates and rules on the site are general information, not tax, legal or accounting advice. Where a page gives a rate or a rule, it links to the source; rates and rules taken from a data table, such as VAT rates or state late-fee rules, also show the date they were last checked. Rules change, so confirm with the source or a qualified adviser before you rely on them.

Fair use

Please do not use the site to:

  • make a document meant to deceive someone, such as a fake invoice or receipt, or a document issued in another business's name without its permission;
  • add material you have no right to use, such as another company's logo;
  • get around the request limits or the security check, or send automated requests to the PDF server;
  • disrupt the site or the PDF server, or try to reach parts of them that are not public.

Requests that break these rules may be refused or blocked.

PDF downloads

  • Your document is rendered as a PDF on our server over an encrypted HTTPS connection. The Privacy Policy explains what the server receives and when it removes it.
  • To keep the service available for everyone, the server limits how many PDFs one connection can request per minute and per day. When a limit is reached or the server is busy, the page tells you and you can try again later.
  • Your browser waits up to 60 seconds for a PDF. Each finished PDF can be downloaded once and is removed from the server 10 minutes after it is ready, so keep the file your browser saves.
  • A one-line "Created free with makeinvoicepdf.com" credit is on by default; one checkbox in the settings turns it off.

Your draft

Your draft is saved in this browser until you reset it. We do not have a copy, so if you press Reset, clear your browser's data or switch to another device, we cannot bring the draft back. Keep your own copies of the documents you send.

Templates and site content

You may download the templates, fill them in, change them and print them for your own documents. The text and design of the site's pages are the publisher's work; please link to a page rather than copying it.

Availability and changes

We may change, add or remove tools, templates and pages. The site or the PDF server may be unavailable at times, for example during maintenance. We cannot promise that the site will always be available or free of errors.

Links to other sites

Some pages link to other sites, such as the sources behind a rate or a rule. We do not control those sites and are not responsible for their content.

Disclaimer and limits of liability

The site, its tools and its templates are provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, MakeInvoicePDF is not liable for any loss or damage that results from using the site or the documents you make with it, including a mistake in a document, a lost draft or a download that fails. Nothing in these terms limits any right that the law does not allow to be limited.

Privacy and cookies

The Privacy Policy and the Cookie Policy explain what happens to your information and what the site stores in your browser.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. The date at the top shows the last change. If you use the site after a change, the updated terms apply.
